Pediatric Orthodontist Las Vegas

A Kids' Orthodontist and Pediatric Dentist Under One Roof

Most families drive to two offices — one for cleanings, one for braces. Here you get both. Our pediatric dental team and Las Vegas orthodontist Dr. Sam Faranesh work side by side, so one team follows your child's teeth, bite, jaw growth and breathing from the first baby tooth to the last retainer. Is There Such a Thing as a Pediatric Orthodontist?

Not as a formal specialty. Orthodontics and pediatric dentistry are two separate recognized specialties, and no dentist is licensed as a "pediatric orthodontist." What parents mean is an orthodontist who treats children routinely alongside a pediatric dental team — which is how this practice is built. Dr. Faranesh trained in orthodontics at the University of Colorado and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Treating Early Is What Dr. Faranesh Does Most

A child's upper jaw is two halves joined by a suture that does not fuse until the teenage years, and the lower jaw still responds to guidance while it lengthens. Widening a narrow palate is an appliance at eight and a surgical conversation at twenty-five. That said, most seven-year-olds need nothing but a yearly look, and we will tell you so rather than start treatment that can wait.

What We Look For at Age 7

By seven the first permanent molars and front teeth are in, which is the first point a bite can be read:

  • A crossbite that makes the jaw shift sideways to bite
  • A narrow upper jaw or high, vaulted palate
  • Front teeth protruding far enough to be at real risk in a fall
  • Underbites, where guiding growth works far better early
  • Canines heading toward impaction, often guidable if caught now
  • Thumb sucking, a lingering pacifier, or tongue thrust

Breathing and the Airway

We see the same child across years of growth, and we are already examining the jaw width, palate, tonsils, and whether they breathe through the nose or the mouth. We ask about snoring, mouth breathing, restless sleep, daytime tiredness, trouble concentrating, bed-wetting, witnessed pauses in breathing, and chronic congestion.

We do not diagnose. Sleep-disordered breathing and sleep apnea are medical diagnoses, usually confirmed by a sleep study, and they belong to your pediatrician or a sleep physician. We notice, document and refer. Often the obstruction is enlarged tonsils and adenoids, and an ENT is the right first stop.

Where orthodontics helps is structural: expanding a genuinely narrow upper jaw during growth widens the floor of the nose and makes room for the tongue. In some children that tracks with easier nasal breathing and better sleep measures. Honestly, that research is encouraging but still limited in quality, and expansion does not reliably normalize every child's numbers. We would rather tell you what it can and cannot do than sell it as a cure.

Treatment at Every Stage

Early, or Phase I. Ages 7 to 10 — room for permanent teeth, crossbite correction, growth guidance. How early treatment works.

Braces for kids and teens. Metal and clear ceramic. Our braces options.

Invisalign and Invisalign Teen. Platinum Provider; digital iTero scans, no putty. How Invisalign works.

Retainers. Teeth drift for life. Our Retainer Protection Program.

What It Costs

Every case is different, so we do not quote a one-size-fits-all price. The consultation is free, and you leave knowing the plan and the monthly number before anything starts. Most families begin braces from $99/month on an approved in-office payment plan, Cherry financing is available, and we accept most PPO plans. How monthly payments work.
